31 of Jan, Saturday was the Red Cross flag selling day. The whole of my school went around Singapore to sell flags. My class went to the Esplanade and Padang; my group went to Padang where people cannot be found there except for a piece of empty field...-_-....
So anyway, my group of 5 went to Esplanade to sell since Padang didn't have any people around. then we walked all the way to Chinatown cos there were more people there. We went to the temple since alot of poeple went there. we collect alot from the people visiting the temple cos they were all very kind and generous. ALL of them who stepped in and ut of the temple donated...and I'm not kidding...I was very happy. Then, we went to City hall MRT, Funan IT Mall and Penisula Plaza area. we sold quite a nuber of flags. We decided to split - two go to Funan and me and another two went scouting around those places. we walked up and down and chatted on the way and asked peopple to donate too. I was so damn tired and my legs were killing me. The 3 of us went to have lunch in Funan and ate Ban Mian...whoa...shiok man!! It's really good! so we continued selling and discovered that my other team mates' cans were so heavy....really heavy but my friend's little sister collected even more...hers was much heavier... Then, the 3 of us again walked to City Hall MRT station to sell flags. We did not go down the subway but stayed at the top where there are the ascalaters(sp?). We asked and asked; most of the people we saw already had the stickers so we cannot ask them to donate again. One incident was that an ang moh/caucasian told me to take out my hand and he gave me a handful of loose change. He said that he had those loose change and decided to give to me and put them in myself. My friend evied me cos i had the coins so i gave a few coins to her....haha.... Back at school, we were sweating like mad and sticky all over...the teachers were pleased to see that my team mates had collect a very good amount of money...that is they knew it cos the can was heavy....my can was not as heavy...XP But i enjoyed it and it was a great experience.... posted by Regina Ying at Tuesday, February 03, 2004
