I'm in the middle of sketching out a Halloween special vector illustration.
Hope i can finish it tonight and post it on deviantart on the actual day. Wanted to revise my japanese today but it looks like i'm going to do it tomorrow. haha! Also, i think i'm going to the library after jap class to research on the norse mythology... i HIGHLY DOUBT they have any good folklore info books. It's either they are just hiding from me or i don't have any searching abilities. haha xD Oh ya, here's a very accurate and interesting personality quiz. I got this from my cousin. He said his one is also very accurate. Do this quiz: http://similarminds.com/jung.html and then go here for your evaluation: http://www.personalitypage.com/portraits.html For my evaluation, it's 90% accurate, to my surprise. Have fun! posted by Regina Ying at Thursday, October 30, 2008
ok the long awaited China trip pics are finally here!
Enjoy! Oh before that, if you are planning to take Air China, please DO NOT! The quality of the airplane is the worst i've sat on. In Huang Long (Yellow Dragon). Nice rite? We climbed for 2 + hrs to the top of Huang Long, and this is our reward. 5 colour lake! postcard-like? haha The walk downwards was the worst lah. It was in the mountains so very hard to breathe and leg very pain. My mother had to use a walking stick, the ones for hiking. Yaks walking along the road, beside our bus. Jiu Zhai Gou. It's a really beautiful place, must go one. The difference between this and other scenic forests is that this one has very clear lakes. As you can see, the water is so pure and clear! My favourite shot. In Du Jiang Yan, an irrigation system area of 2000 years old. One of our grp members (the ang moh one) looks VERY similar to Ellen Degeneres! Really! I told her and she said: "Ah not again! I'm not gay!" something like tt. haha Went to a theatre to watch traditional Sichuan acts. This one is the world famous Bian Lian (Changing faces). They change their masks really fast! It's made of silk i think, and the main thing that changes the mask is the hat. Well, that's my theory. No one knows how to do it cos this is a family tradition thing, cannot pass down to anyone. PANDA!!!!!!!!! At the Panda research base in Chengdu. I was jumping like mad! The pandas were eating eating eating eating eating and eating. Nothing but eating. Then sleep. Red pandas! This doesn't eat much. Roots of the Ebony tree at the Ebony Museum. All the exhibits are over 1 to 2 million yrs old. i think. Ebony is formed by trees that are buried underwater for many years and become a dark wood colour. They also have faint herb scent. The famous giant buddha We didn't want to go Er Mei Shan (some mountain) so we went to this ancient Hakka town. There are alot of costume shops. You rent and choose costume, wear and take lot of pics like these guys. In Dufu (a famous poet) memorial. An ah ma doing taichi. haha Sichuan's famous ma la (numb and spicy) hotpot. The one in the middle is the spicy one, and it's very spicy! What kind of brand is that?! HAHAHA! Copy also must copy until like that.... Aiya, my buttock very big... my mother so wu liao, go and take this kind of pic in the middle of the beautiful mountains. xDD posted by Regina Ying at Wednesday, October 29, 2008
I have not uploaded the China pics into my comp yet. Too lazy to do it.
So most probably they will appear in the next post. It will take awhile cos uploading photos on photobucket is a pain in a**. BUT! I assure you all will enjoy them as much as the Italy ones. There's colourful trees, sichuan opera and pandas! Soooooo stay tuned!! Anyway i spent almost all of my 'virtual money' in one shot in Poupee girl. Omg... all my savings spent on the event goods which can't be resold. xDD It's the Halloween event, so they have unlimited costumes for sale. I dunno why i rushed to buy everything. xDD Guess that's the fun of it. Enough of my 'money' loss. It's time for the 3 deadliest words in the entire design school. (for seniors, that is.) FYP! (final year project) Just thinking about it gives me the heebee jeebees but it also gives me a rage of hellfire burning in me (like quite excited). xDD I hope this fire doesn't burn out. And i've been sick lately. I had a HORRIGIBLE running nose 2 days ago, fever yesterday, and blocked nose today. Tmr may have cough becos my throat is damn dry. posted by Regina Ying at Friday, October 24, 2008
Some friends have been waiting for my Italy trip pics.
I'll just upload here. I dun wanna upload a second time on facebook, damn sian. Unless my cousin uploads and tags me, which might not happen. Anyway, I can't really find the exact words to describe the trip. Extremely fun and enlightening are not even close to that, but i'll use those instead. xD Extremely fun and enlightening! I hope to go free & easy in another country again. No more tours!!! There's ALOT of pics: Some korean actor/singer?? At the departure hall before we checked in. The fans were crazy screaming. Our hostel in Florence. It's like a service apartment with common living rooms and kitchen. Breakfast provided! A flea market in Florence. Mostly touristy stuff and leather bags and other barang barang. Cool huh? The cyclist passed by at the right time. haha Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore Cattedrale. A huge famous church. My godma donating and lighting candles. Whenever we step into churches, she'll donate $. The same church with a tower. We climbed up and I was sweating like no one's business! The imitation David at a big square filled with other famous statues. At the same square, there was some ceremony or festival. Medieval cosplay, hahaha! A bridge in Florence. Florence Wine Event. Apparently, you have to pay to taste all the wine. Like a wine buffet. I saw ppl carrying the wine glass miles away, haha the glass also free sia... Went to Pisa the next day by train. PISA!! With birds! This was taken in a medieval town called Lucca. I caught this ah ma staring out of her apartment. hahaha And alot of their buildings in Italy have this 'Ave Maria' monument on the right. A poetry we found in one of the alleys in Lucca. So romantic rite? Lucca has a marketplace where ppl sell their handcrafted stuff. Sooo nice! Our next major city is Siena. I'm in love with this small city/town. This is a typical road in Siena. The guy looks like a mafia. haha What we ate in Siena. Typical dishes we ate in Italy lah... From left to right: Capellini with mushrooms, Penne with tomato sauce, veal with olive oil, steak. Super delicious. Rome's famed carbonara was excellent and different from SG. The pizza's are also very light and crispy. Pasta Mania and pizza hut can't even compare with this. Young blackberries outside a wine cellar in Siena. My cousin told us that Siena's famous for its wine. Piazza del Campo, the most famous site in Siena. Got ppl sun tanning there, no joke man. It was very hot and sunny. Cute dogs outside a church. Almost died watching them! xDD How i wish i could pet the dogs i saw in Italy. Their coats and colour are soo fantastic. We were abit broke on food money so we went to the supermarket to buy dinner. The hostel we stayed in Siena had kitchen equipment, washing machine and dish washer. The facilities were all brand new. Best hostel we stayed in. This dinner was steak with pepper and onion, seafood & vege soup. Tastes like home cooked food. haha A franciscan spotted in Rome. Rome's very famous 'Three coins in a fountain'. My godma and I threw coins in it. haha Somewhere in Rome, a big place where artists sell their works. I bought a watercolour painting! The young guy tending the stall was the artist's son. He was busy with his gf when i looked at the works. He offered me a lower price and i said i'll consider. He said: "ya whatever." with hand gestures shooing me away. Ya lah whatever lah. Don't want to earn money and starve to death is your business. I forgot what were those in Rome. We went to the Vatican City on wednesday. Went to the St. Peter's square at 9.45am. The Pope came out at 10.45am. At last! I saw the Pope!!! Was more excited than my godma lah! In the Vativan Museum. Some greek god, very famous one... Me, godma and cousins. The two are total opposites man... haha. Finally i got to see a REAL MUMMY up close!!!! The hair is still intact lah! This room is like WOW. Alot of rooms are like that. The museum is sooo amazing. Throughout the trips to museums, I saw paintings like 'The birth of Venus' and 'The last supper'. The last supper is enormous! St. Peter's Cathedral, the largest catholic church in the world. And really man, the church is so damn awesome. I was overwhelmed.... There were preservations of the previous popes, and they stored fragments of the veil, cross and the spear used to stab Jesus there too. So enlightening! Allelujah!! Ray of light shining at a confessionale. The famous of famous Pieta. Mary carrying Jesus on her lap. We visited the Sistine chapel, where a pope is being chosen. The famous 'Creation of Adam' (ET phone home) is on the ceiling. In the chapel there was a small door at the top. I think it's where the chimney is? Visitors cannot take photo and must be silent. There were guards inside to catch ppl not following rules. And there i saw a punk holding his camera at his waist, snapping away. haha like wth man... Another hostel cooked dinner in Rome. Pasta, instant soup, breaded pork and vege. My dream is to visit the Colossium! I was the one jumping happily when we reached the site. My godma was like, colossium so nice meh? I took the most pics here lah.... must take until shiok mah... haha Inside. Notice a cross? In the Palatino, where Augustine's house is. The tree is huge. Augustine's house all in ruins. There are patches of marble flooring too, still quite shiny. Overview of the Roman ruins. On the left is the Senate where Caesar and his crew argue over politics, and on the right is (i think) a house where a saint is roasted to death. The first cat we ever saw in Italy! There weren't any stray animals here at all. Panna Cotta, an itailian desert. Very nice but abit sweet. posted by Regina Ying at Tuesday, October 07, 2008
